Two Cakes Challenge
We've all heard the "two cakes" analogy in fandom. [If you have not, go here (source)] This community exists to celebrate all the cakes in the world, along with all the bakers. Whether you're a writer, artist, podficcer, or vidder, we hope you'll join us!
Rules:
Finding a Prompt:
A new prompt will be posted every week, unless otherwise noted. Prompts will be numbered, and there's no time limit or due date for cakes - you can go all the way back to the beginning and search for a prompt that inspires you. Once you have a prompt, start creating! There's no need to indicate that you're working on a prompt, as we are celebrating all the cakes.
See "sharing your cakes" for what to do when you have a completed work.
Submitting New Prompts:
If you've got a great idea for a prompt, and want to see how many cakes you'll get, please leave a comment on the prompt submission post. Comments will be screened, and should be submitted using the form below:
Credit: (do you want to be "gifted" the fic, or remain anonymous?)
Source link: (optional, only use if your idea comes from a Tweet or other media)
Suggested fandom: (optional, but if you have an idea of character that might fit, leave them here)
Prompt: (be as detailed or brief as you like, but keep in mind that this is a prompt challenge - the less complex your prompt is, the better variety of cakes you'll receive)
Sharing Your Cakes:
We can't wait to see what you baked! Post a link on your usual haunts: Tumblr, AO3, DreamWidth, Twitter, etc. If you use a service with hashtags, like Twitter or Instagram, tag it #twocakeschallenge. On AO3, you can add it to the twocakeschallenge collection.
Once you've posted, comment on the original prompt post with a link to your cake. Include the fandom, pairing, and what kind of fill it is (art, fic, music, etc.) in the subject line. Please do not post your fill directly in the comment - even if it's a short cake, we ask that you host it elsewhere.
Example:
Subject line: Captain America; Steve/Bucky; fic
Comment:
Author/Artist: YourName
Rating: G

What if I already have a piece that fits the prompt? Does that count as a cake?
Yes please. All the cakes!
